The Jharkhand Medical & Health Infrastructure Development & Procurement Corporation (JMHDPC) has invited bids for the upgradation of the existing 100-bed District Hospital in Giridih into a full-fledged medical college, marking a significant step toward expanding healthcare and medical education infrastructure in the state.
The project, estimated at ₹428 crore, is proposed to be implemented under a public-private partnership (PPP) model and is aimed at enhancing access to quality healthcare services while increasing medical education capacity in the region. The contract is expected to be completed within one year from the date of award.
The scope of the project includes the transformation of the current district hospital into a modern medical college campus equipped with advanced healthcare, academic, and residential facilities. Planned developments include the expansion of hospital infrastructure, construction of teaching and administrative blocks, laboratories, lecture theatres, student hostels, and other essential facilities required to meet medical education and accreditation standards.
Once completed, the project is expected to strengthen the region’s healthcare ecosystem, improve the availability of specialized medical services, and contribute to the training of future healthcare professionals in Jharkhand.
The last date for submission of bids is August 5, 2026.
